Frequently asked questions
Is the AmarKarigor app free?
Yes. Downloading and using the app is completely free. We charge no fee to customers or technicians.
Can I pay through the app?
No. AmarKarigor does not take or process any payment. You pay the technician directly – cash, bKash, Nagad, or whatever you both agree on. The app only keeps a written record of the price so both sides have the same note.
What does the “verified” badge mean?
The technician submitted their National ID (NID) and a selfie, and our team checked that they match. It confirms identity only – it is not a guarantee of work quality or price. Use ratings and reviews to choose.
Where does the “usually costs” information come from?
From anonymised prices of jobs previously completed in the app. It is shown only when at least 5 jobs exist for that category and area, and it never reveals who paid what. It is guidance only – agree the final price with the technician before work starts.
Where is AmarKarigor available?
Currently in Dhaka and Gazipur districts. More districts are coming soon.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. The app is Android-only for now, distributed through Google Play. There is no iOS version.
How do I join as a technician?
Download the app, log in with Google or your email, add your mobile number, choose the “Technician” role, then add your skills, experience, service area and work photos. You can optionally submit your ID to apply for the verified badge. It is all free.
